Publications
A total of 80 publications
saw print in peer-reviewed journals / edited book chapters in
2006. Of these, 22 were published in journals classified as
Tier 1 by the Office of Research, NUS. Some noteworthy findings
are highlighted in the following paragraphs:
Yang et al reported a
novel strategy for structure determination of large proteins
without deuteration (Nat. Methods, 2006, 3, 931-937). His research
findings were also highlighted in the NUS Research Gallery:
Crossing the 30kDa barrier in NMR).
Yao et al demonstrated
the ease and convenience of employing click chemistry in constructing
focused chemical libraries for rapid in situ screening of metalloprotease
inhibitors (Organic Letters 2006, 8, 713).
Chen et al reviewed the
progress in drug target exploration, proposed rules to guide
the search for druggable proteins and applied a statistical
learning method for predicting druggable proteins from their
sequences (Pharmacology Reviews, 2006, 58, 259).
Lu and co-workers reported
the synthesis of the first opioid peptide-derived antagonists
that do not contain a phenolic hydroxyl group at the 1-position
residue (Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2006, 49, 5382) Their
cyclic peptide, Dcp-c[D-Cys-Gly-Phe(pNO(2))-D-Cys] NH2, represents
a novel, potent mu opioid antagonist.
